Birgunj, Nepal – March 17, 2025:
The For Good Reason (4GR) organization continues its unwavering commitment to alleviating hunger in the local community. On Sunday evening, 4GR successfully organized a special Iftar program at Chhapkaiya-2, Birgunj, marking the 279th event under their ongoing food service initiative. This event not only exemplified the spirit of Ramadan but also highlighted how small contributions from individuals can collectively bring significant change.
A Tradition of Service and Compassion
Founded with the vision of serving humanity, 4GR has established itself as a beacon of hope for the underprivileged. For the past few years, the organization has been tirelessly providing hygienic, home-style meals in a respectful environment — all for just NPR 5 per person. This minimal charge symbolizes their mission to ensure dignity and inclusivity while addressing the fundamental issue of hunger.
Sunday’s Iftar program was another step forward in this mission. Held at the premises of the Community Service Center and Community Police Office in Chhapkaiya-2, the program catered to individuals observing Ramadan. The team set up a special food stall, warmly welcoming Rozedaars (those fasting) and offering them fresh Fruits, Juice, and Water

“Home-Cooked Food, Everyone’s Desire”
Under the slogan, “घरको खाना, सबैको चाहना” (“Home-Cooked Food, Everyone’s Desire”), 4GR has touched countless lives. This philosophy reflects their dedication to providing nutritious, comforting meals — the kind one would expect at home, served with love and respect.
While the program is a regular occurrence, the Iftar event held special significance as it brought together members of different communities, volunteers, and well-wishers, fostering unity, compassion, and understanding during the holy month of Ramadan.
Community Participation: The Pillar of Success
The success of 4GR’s initiatives rests heavily on community support. Sunday’s event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various individuals who offered their time, energy, and resources to make the evening meaningful. In particular, Dr. Anu Patwari played a pivotal role in sponsoring this week’s meal service, reinforcing 4GR’s mission and encouraging others to step forward.
Additionally, numerous volunteers worked behind the scenes to ensure smooth execution. Among them were Vice President Afsana Khan, Devaki Chachan, Pushpa Gadia, Preeti Tulsiyan, Sulochana Agrawal, Sneha Patwari, Nency Agrawal, Gyasuddin Thakurai, Krishna Kushwaha, Jyyahul Haque, Prem Kumari Singh, Madan Gupta, Abdul Haque, Brij Bhushan Pandey, Shiv Shankar Pandit, Solazim Mia, and Sahanwaj Ansari. Their selfless contribution ensured that each attendee was served with care and dignity.

Small Acts, Big Impact
One of the key messages emphasized by 4GR is how even a small act of generosity can make a significant difference in someone’s life. Their approach demonstrates that no contribution is too small when it comes to serving those in need. Whether it’s a financial donation, volunteering time, or simply spreading the word, every effort helps strengthen their network and expands their reach.
Chairperson Nutan Sarawagi expressed heartfelt gratitude to all supporters, highlighting that charity never diminishes one’s wealth. Instead, the blessings and goodwill earned through such selfless acts often bring about growth and prosperity. “When we uplift others, we uplift ourselves. Let’s continue to be part of this journey and make life a little easier for those who need it the most,” Sarawagi remarked.
Looking Ahead: Building a Sustainable Model
4GR’s long-term goal is to establish a sustainable model of service that not only provides meals but also inspires others to replicate similar initiatives in different parts of Nepal. They believe that regular, small-scale community-driven programs can play a crucial role in eradicating hunger and fostering social harmony.
To ensure the continuity and growth of their programs, the organization consistently appeals for community collaboration. They remain optimistic that more individuals and organizations will join hands in the coming months, further strengthening the mission.
A Call to Action
The message from 4GR is clear — hunger is a solvable problem when communities come together with empathy and action. They invite everyone, regardless of background or status, to become a part of their mission. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply sharing the cause within your network, every contribution has the potential to change lives.
As Ramadan continues, and with many more days of fasting ahead, 4GR is already preparing for their next Iftar event. They encourage anyone willing to support the cause to reach out and participate.
